JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERATION SPECIALIST APPRENTICE

An employee who is engaged in performing work as an assistant to or under the general direction of Foreman/Forewoman, Operator - Hydro Generation Journeyman, Power Generation Technician or Generation Specialist, or other experienced and qualified personnel while training for the Generation Specialist Journeyman classification.
In order to gain experience for advancement they may be required to work alone or under direct supervision on jobs for which they have been trained, instructed and demonstrated competency.
The employee's educational and general qualifications must be such that they are considered capable of attaining Journeyman status.

PROGRESSION TO JOURNEYMAN
Upon successful completion of the TMWA approved Generation Specialist apprenticeship, the apprentice will auto-progress to the Generation Specialist position.

WAGE
Start: $44.47

WORKKEYS REQUIREMENT

Each applicant must pass the required WorkKeys Assessments with the following minimum scores to be accepted into an apprenticeship program. Any aptitude test required by TMWA will be used as one factor in the selection process. The apprentice must have attained the minimum required scores prior to the completion of their job shadow for internal candidates or prior to commencing work if hired externally. The scheduling of the job shadow will generally be within 7 calendar days of the posted close date but can occur later due to scheduling or operational needs. In no case will the dates for job shadowing or hire be extended to accommodate those who haven’t attained the required minimum scores and are attempting to test or re-test.

Applied Math: 6
Graphic Literacy: 5
Workplace Documents: 5
Applied Technology: 5
